Love this flour

I found Janie’s Mill when searching for organic bread flour in bulk. I love the earthy/nutty flavor that it gives my whole wheat sourdough bread. I’ve tried plenty of others, including the “King” which reins supreme here in New England. Bottom line, nothing compares to Janie’s Mill’s Artisan Bread Flour and I will continue to order, even with the shipping costs! Give it a try. I hope you love it as much as we do.

This is the best flour for our household!

I love this flour for sourdough bread! It has such a full-flavored taste, whereas the white flour just tastes flat now.
An anecdote: My kids' doc was concerned about their Vit B12 levels being too low, and had them tested. They were actually high! I feel great that my MTHFR kids don't need to supplement because they are getting important vitamins from this flour, used in sourdough baking!

great flavor but have yet to figure out the right water percentage

While I don’t have anything negative to say about this flour, as someone who started baking sourdough within the last 6 months, this is a very hard flour to work with. I have yet to make a good loaf with it. It does have a nice flavor but I’m having a lot of trouble figuring out the right percentage of water to use without it being too dry or too wet. I have not found the in between yet.

Best Flour ever !

This is what flour should taste like. The breads and pancakes have a real fresh nutty grain flavor. Compared to commercial flour which tastes like....
well commercial flour has no taste. It rises with a vigor other flours do not.

Nicest bread flour I've ever used

When I add water to the flour at night to autolyze the flour and soften the bran, it's rough and shaggy looking. By morning, when I add levain, it's transformed to a smooth and supple dough that is a joy to work with. And it makes delicious bread.
