Janie’s Mill is a farmer-owned, certified organic flour mill located in east-central Illinois, just off Interstate 57. We stone-mill organic grains, many of them grown on Janie's Farm, for home and professional bakers, chefs, and distillers across the country.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:
Mlling Team Member - We are hiring a full‑time Milling Team Member for our organic flour mill in Ashkum, IL. This hands‑on role supports daily milling operations, equipment maintenance, quality checks, packaging, and order fulfillment. Candidates should be detail‑oriented, able to lift 50 lbs, and available Monday–Friday. Join a farmer‑owned, certified organic mill serving bakers nationwide.
Milling Lead - The Milling Lead at Janie’s Mill is responsible for overseeing the milling process to ensure the consistent production of high-quality, organic flour and grain products. This role involves managing daily milling operations, leading a team across three shifts, and ensuring adherence to food safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on milling experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to optimize production efficiency while maintaining strict quality control. The Milling Lead is an on-site, full-time position, and reports directly to the Mill Manager.
Food Safety Practitioner and Bookkeeper - This role supports two integral areas of Janie’s Mill—food safety and bookkeeping. For the Food Safety Practitioner portion of this role, the practitioner implements and maintains safe food practices at Janie’s Mill per the SQF (Safe Quality Food) Food Safety Code. The annual internal and external food safety audits are planned, coordinated, and overseen by the Food Safety Practitioner. For the bookkeeping portion of this role, the bookkeeper maintains accurate financial records, assists with accounts payable/receivable, and supports payroll and tax compliance. This position will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy as well as meeting rigorous food safety standards. This role reports directly to the Mill Manager and Controller.
Marketing and Relationships Manager - The Marketing & Relationships Manager at Janie’s Mill is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that promote our brand, strengthen relationships with customers and partners, and increase sales across retail, wholesale, and e-commerce channels. This role combines creative marketing initiatives with relationship management, ensuring that Janie’s Mill remains a trusted and respected name among home bakers, chefs, retailers, and distributors. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who thrives in both creative and analytical work, with a passion for organic food, sustainable agriculture, and community engagement.This role is an on-site, full-time position, and reports directly to the Mill Manager.
