  • Product Info

Janie's Mill stone-ground organic whole-kernel rye flour delivers not only a rich, hearty taste, but enormous health benefits. Just 1/2 cup of Dark Rye Flour provides 6g of fiber, or about 1/3 of the RDA. Rye is also high in the important B vitamins, as well as crucial minerals such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, manganese, iron, cobalt, copper, zinc, chrome, phosphorus, iodine, and boron.

European bakers often make a 100% rye loaf that is dense, delicious, and keeps well. You can also add rye to your favorite wheat loaf to boost its flavor and moisture, experimenting with the percentage of rye flour until you get a loaf that matches your desired density and taste. Janie's Mill Dark Rye also makes delicious Brownies and "Whiskey and Rye" Cookies!

No spread needed!

We are very fond of your rye flavor. Cutting back on the use of spreads like jam and butter is not so hard with the wonderful rye bread we make with your flour. Just a drizzle of raw honey and/or a quarter teaspoon of butter and you have a tasty treat. I use a cup or two of light rye in my old-fashioned Irish bread recipe, with carraway seeds and raisins - yum, yum, yum.

For the Best Rye Breads Ever

I've been using Janie's Mill dark rye flour for several years and can honestly say it helps me make the best rye breads ever and I can feel good about the quality of the ingredients. My favorite rye bread that I make uses mollases, orange zest, caraway seeds, fennel seeds and anise seeds. It's a winner every time I make it.

Still figuring it out

My husband loves to bake and wanted to try Rye flour for the first time. We have made bread with it and it’s much more dense than what we are used to, but we love it so far! Second attempt he tried doing something different and it failed but that just means more fir the birdies!

Top quality products, reasonable delivery time packaged well. I somehow mistakenly got signed up for a subscription. Let's see how they handle that. I will update this post if possible as soon as I have an answer. I suspect they will do well.
I Was correct in assuming that their customer service would equal the products. Outstanding service, Quick and on point! Kudos They will be my goto. They should be your too!

Wonderful Rye flour!

Organic Dark Rye flour makes wonderful bread that reminds me of the Swedish Rye I enjoyed as a child.
