Sifted Artisan Blend Flour

My favorite flour! It develops a strong gluten network, rises beautifully, & tastes great. It works very well in plain breads as well as enriched doughs. My Christmas stollen rose almost twice as much as with ‘the other brand’.

Wonderful flavor and aroma

I baked my first sourdough loaf yesterday using Janie's sifted flour and it turned out perfect. When I pulled the loaf from the oven, the aroma in my house made it difficult to wait for the it to cool before cutting. The wait was worth it as the loaf was one of my best. Had some toasted this a.m. Delicious!

Versatile, delicious, excellent rise!

This is my favorite flour (so far!) from Janie's Mill. It makes absolutely wonderful cinnamon rolls, english muffins, and enriched breads (tangzhong method especially). It has a lovely wheat flavor without being heavy, and produces a high and fluffy, light rise. I was worried it might be a bit heavy or dense to use without blending in a 100% white flour but so far it's perfect for any recipe calling for bread flour. The flavor of this flour is complemented really well by honey, highly recommend subbing honey for sugar if you're making any sweet breads, the combo is perfect. Thank you Janie's Mill for such a wonderful product!

Sifted Artisan Bread flour

This flour makes fantastic dinner rolls/hamburger buns/sandwich rolls when made with the recipe on the Janie's Mill website from the Grainwright bakery in Louisville, KY. I keep making them over & over instead of trying other recipes with this flour.

Biscuits!

I have experimented with many brands and types of flour for my biscuits, and Sifted Artisan has emerged as the winner. Biscuits turn out light and flavorful, and the 80% extraction adds a nice touch of whole-grain flavor without heaviness. Crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and more flavorful all around. Perfect with Heidi's rasperry jam.
