    Whole grain oats are also known as groats. “Groat” is an old Scottish word for any hulled grain, but it’s mainly used for oats in modern English, while “berry” is used for whole grains of wheat and rye. Our organic whole grain oats are rich in B-vitamins, calcium, protein and fiber, and low in sodium and unsaturated fat. They have a pleasing texture and wholesome nutty taste. You can use them as you would wheat berries — for grain bowls, pilafs, soups, stews, and hot cereal.

    Cook up your whole oats as you would brown rice, with about 3 parts water to 1 part grain. The amount of time will vary, depending on if you cook them on top of the stove, in a crock-pot slow-cooker, or in an insta-pot or pressure cooker — check out our helpful guide and recipes. Use the cooked oats for breakfast cereal, soups, stews, pilafs, casseroles and grain salads.

Wonderful Oats/Wonderful Packaging!

This was my first order from Janies Mill, and I after tasting their oat groats, I will now be a repeat customer! Their packaging was impressive. My go-to oat supplier used to ship their product to me carefully, but the last few times the 3-lb bags were just thrown in a large box, which was retaped by the shipping company. Janie's Mill's Oats on the other hand were carefully packaged in recyclable packaging, and arrived at my doorstep perfectly. Thank you for your wonderful product and outstanding service!

Organic Oat Groats

This is the first time that I have eaten oat goats and it is so much better than the oatmeal that you get in the store! The flavor and texture was a delight to my taste buds! No mush! No harsh chemicals! I just boiled them according to their recipe.

My clean Oatmeal

I am grateful... that now I can have Oatmeal that is NOT drenched in Glyphosate at harvest, as all grains in the US are. There is a reason why Glyphosate is banned in Europe. It's why many Americans think they are Gluten intolerant when they eat bread, while they visit Europe and find that bread doesn't bother them! I used up the 2 lb bag of Oatmeal quickly and found that I could order a 25 lb bag of oat GROATS and run them through my home mill to get slightly chewy steel cut oats. Since I am able to mill them myself, the 25 lb bag was more than twice the amount for the cost!
(I can even grind them with the stone wheels if I need oat flour.) They are delicious and clean. I am a happy camper :)
