    Our organic rye berries are popular for milling, malting, distilling, and using in grain bowls. To prepare the whole grain, simply measure out the desired amount of rye berries into a saucepan and add three to four times as much water and salt to taste. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about an hour or until tender. Drain and set aside to cool, or serve immediately in a breakfast bowl, dinner grain bowl, or salad. Try this rye berry salad, and feel free to substitute whatever herbs, nuts, or fruits you have on hand.

High quality rye berries

I must say that this grain is of much higher quality than the one I was buying on Amazon from Great River Milling. I mill my own flour and bake rye sourdough (70% rye and 30% spelt) and also einkorn/spelt (50/50). Have been doing this for at least 8 years. Not only rye berries look better, but the bread also came out better. However, I am not sure whether it's because of the rye or spelt (which I also bought from Janie's this time) or both :)

Love freshly milled

I love adding freshly milled flour from this berries into flour mix for my sourdough bread. Exceptional result. My starter love it very much also.
